New team scrubs up at Soapworks

Soapworks - the iconic office development in Salford – has a new marketing team following Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund’s (GMPVF) acquisition of the scheme in September last year. GVA, who advised GMPVF on the purchase and is the investment manager acting on behalf of the fund is the new joint letting agent together with Jones Lang LaSalle.

Soapworks, the former Colgate-Palmolive factory, sits on an 8.4 acre site in the heart of Salford and adjacent to MediaCityUK. The first two phases have been refurbished and redeveloped to provide 230,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation and are currently home to water treatment engineers Stantec (formerly MWH), INNOV8, TalkTalk and The Home Office. Only three suites remain available and can accommodate requirements from 5,593 to 23,950 sq ft.

Chris Cheap of GVA, comments: “This is an exciting new chapter in the Soapworks story as we look to continue to build on the success of the scheme to date. Soapworks is an innovative and engaging working environment, which is highly accessible by public transport and road. These factors mean that the development appeals to occupiers from a broad range of sectors and we are in the process of implementing a strategy that will ensure that the available space at Soapworks is presented to this broad audience as effectively as possible. As well as looking to secure new occupiers for the remaining space, we are also considering significant further development to realise the full potential of this important site, which will further benefit the local economy.”

Jennifer Bamber, Soapworks Estate Manager, adds: “Over the last few years, Soapworks has continued to evolve and has become a bustling community where companies and their employees thrive in an eclectic and efficient working environment. We are always looking at ways to further enhance the offering here and are looking forward to working with the new team as we progress with the next phase.”
